CRS score drops by 6 points in latest Express Entry draw

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a new Express Entry draw on February 13th, 2024. The department issued invitations to a total of 1,490 candidates in a General draw. Invited candidates were also required to have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 535 to be eligible.

If more than one candidate that was invited has the lowest CRS score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profile. Invitations to apply for Canada PR may be issued under the following categories:

Candidates invited to this Express Entry draw now have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (APR) in their online account. This includes providing all supporting documentation.

With an application processing time of 6 months, the Express Entry Program is currently the most popular option for immigrants to apply for a Canada PR visa. It uses a points-based system, which considers factors such as Age, Education, Work Experience, and Language Proficiency, to determine eligibility for permanent residency.

Canada has historically welcomed many immigrants to help support and sustain its economy under the Express Entry Program. As of February 2024, Canada faces drastic labour shortages alongside nearly 1 million job vacancies. These factors are driving the country to set higher immigration targets.
